The 2026 lineup is heating up!
2026 is turning out to be the second coming of 2016 when it comes to nerd projects airing at one time. From household names such as the MCU and Super Mario, to the new kid on the block of the DCU. It seems the creative engine is firing on all cylinders. While 2025 seems to have been a big year for setting up for the main event, it had its fair share of box office success with breakout films like the “Thunderbolts”, “Superman”, and “The Fantastic Four”. 2026 seems destined to outshine its predecessor with a lineup of blockbusters that haven’t been seen since 2016.
From Marvel alone we have two major films projected to make a billion dollars each, “Avengers Doomsday” and “Spiderman: Brand New Day” are two of the most anticipated marvel films to date. With both of the franchises being huge earners for the MCU in the past, they are hoping to recapture the magic of what made us fall in love with this franchise to begin with.
For the next big star and the new kid on the block, the DCU is off to a hot start with “Superman” in 2025. Critics are wondering if they can keep the flame alive with their next big entry “Supergirl, Woman of Tomorrow”. Another project with a lot of attention is the television series “Lanterns” that will be airing on HBO.
From beyond the stars in whole other galaxies, we have projects such as “Dune III” and Star Wars “The Mandalorian and Grogu”. Two films with different tones that I’m sure will bring an action-packed space adventure that viewers have been missing.

A blast from the past with movies such as Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” is one of the most anticipated movies of all time. Nolan’s master class in directing has drawn the eye of Odyssey fans and brought a new crowd to the story. Audiences can’t wait to see the world of the Odyssey brought to the silver screen.

And last but certainly not least, video game movies have made an uncanny comeback in recent years. With the success of the “Sonic” movies, a way was paved for the success of movies like “Super Mario”. Well, the well anticipated sequel to billion-dollar blockbuster is finally here. “Super Mario Super Galaxy” is suspected to be as good or better than the original. As we follow the famous plumber brothers through their wacky world, we can’t wait to see what adventures we uncover.

Amazon’s Secret Sucess!

“Vox Machina” is a show funded and produced by Amazon in conjunction with the free lance group known as “Critical Role”. The show itself is based on the popular table top game known as D&D. D&D is a turn based adventure game with stories crafted and played by the players themselves. Critical Role is a team of talented voice actors known for their incredibly crafted D&D campaigns. Amazon took notice of their success and decided to invest in teams story telling. Given a budget, an animation team, and access to the best recording equipment money can buy, Critical Role has produced 3 season worth of quality content. With each season constantly being a step above from the last, constantly leaving viewers pondering how the will top their latest peaks. Their lovable cast, masterful writing, engaging world building and character arcs all coincide in a majorly successful series with more to come.
With an industry over saturated with superhero and sci-fi content, a fantasy setting has a refreshing pallet cleanser. The success of Vox Machina has sparked an interest in D&D from audiences that were previously ignorant to the creative freedom the game brings. The series’ success has allowed for spin of projects such as “The Mighty Nein” to be given a chance. “The Mighty Nein” is another campaign created by Critical Role, after seeing how much of a hit “Vox Machina” was Amazon decided to give the second campaign a chance to shine.
Despite having a much smaller budget than shows like “Invincible” or “The Boy’s” Vox Machina has managed to bring something new and exciting to the table that has been missing for a long time. Revamping a dying genre with new life and paving the way for series just like it to be given a chance at the spotlight.
State of Play!

The Playstation State of Play is a showcase for all the games that Sony wishes to headline. It is a time of celebration looking back on all of Sony’s success and looking forward to the future of gaming. The State of Play has been the site of Sony’s biggest breaks in gaming history. From the rebirth of the ” God of War” series, to the beginnings of “Spider-man” 2018. The State of Play is known for bringing new exciting IP’s to the wider audiences. This year has been no different, the February 2026 State of Play has been dubbed the best state of play in years. This year’s heaviest hitters have taken the internet by storm and have sparked life into a stagnant industry. The big three announcements for this years state of play include 2 new IP’s and a remake of a beloved series. The first being ” 007 First Light”, this years State of Play released a story trailer of the anticipated James Bond game. From the crisp graphics, incredible voice acting, and the engaging story it looks to be a contender for Game of the Year. The next slugger to be revealed was “John Wick”. Another game based on a movie character seems to be just as thrilling and engaging as its predecessor. A sequel to the movies we get to see a Wick in his prime as the Baba Yaga. With Keanu Reeves reprising his role as John Wick fans are excited to see an in depth look into the games combat system and its UI. The last major announcement is arguably the most anticipated, the God of War series has become beloved to fans all around the world. The 2018 game revived a dying fandom with new ideas and exciting promises, the only thing the fans could ask for was a polished version of the games that sparked their interest to begin with. Low and behold Sony answered those requests. An original God of War Trilogy remake is in the works. Breathing new life into the graphics and gameplay along with bringing back original voice actors, Santa Monica aims to bring back that feeling of child like wonder will also improving the gamers experience. To elevate such a beloved property is challenge for any studio , but if anyone is capable its Santa Monica.
Disney’s Media Surge!

In 2026 Disney is gearing up to have its biggest year since 2018. With major blockbusters like Avengers: Doomsday, Spiderman Brand New Day, and the return of classics like Toy Story 5, thats three films with billion dollar potential and that’s excluding TV shows. In recent years Disney has come under fire as a corporation for “ruining” fan favorite IP’s such as Marvel and Star Wars. With the disaster that were the Star Wars sequel trilogy and the confusing ups and downs of the MCU many fans had lost faith in Disney’s ability to churn out money makers on a consistent basis. In 2025, Disney had its fair share of success at a time where failure wasn’t an option. Projects like Zootopia , Avatar Fire and Ash, Fantastic Four: First Steps, and Thunderbolts were received well by the public. Hoping to carry that momentum into 2026 projects such as Daredevil: Born Again season 2 and Maul: Shadow Lord are gearing up to be some of the best projects of the entire year. Daredevil: Born Again was heavily criticized when season one was airing and the team over at Disney seems to have taken those complaints to heart and but the pedal to the metal with this latest season. An action packed thriller that has trully captured the essence that a Daredevil project should. On the the other end of things Maul: Shadow Lord is Disney’s latest animated Star Wars project based on the iconic sith lord himself. With four episodes out, the reviews are in and the sbow is being received even better than previously expected. With animation surpassing even season 7 of the Clone Wars, and writing and themes as mature and deep as Andor, finding a flaw in these first few episodes has been a tough ask. The voice acting, set design, character design, humor, action, and score all hit on the level that has come to be expected of a high level Star Wars production. With no clear flaws in Disney’s current and future line up it seems they are gearing up for their biggest year since 2018.
What is up with Gta 6!

The details behind this game have been locked up tight ever since it was rumored to be in development. With the lastest installation in the GTA series being all the way back in 2013 with GTA 5 the hype for the next game has been building for over 10 years. Games like Red Dead Redemption 2 have held the Rockstar community over for a while but the anticipation can’t build any more. With hacker attacks, leaks, delays, fans were giving up hope that the game would ever come out. That was until December 4, 2023 when the first trailer for the game released and reignited all the excitement for GTA 6. With an initial release date of Fall 2025 fans were ready for the long wait to officially be over. Unfortunately for the, more delays and leaks including a hacker threatening to release the entire unfinished game to the public sent those plan’s crashing and burning. Now with most of the logistic problems handled and the release date set back once again to November of 2026 you would think no other interruptions could stop this game from releasing on time. You would apparently be wrong as developers of GTA 6 have come out and said they are unsure if they will be able to meet that deadline. That’s right the developers themselves don’t feel the GTA is ready. Many fans seem to be tempering their expectations, claiming that it is impossible for the game to meet the expectations that have been placed on it. Others are expecting nothing short of perfection in exchange for such a long wait time. Throughout all the chaos one thing seems to have stayed the same. The uncertainty behind the release of GTA 6 has created more publicity for this game than any advertisment could.
